Just been testing this board in Cyclone Alfred, it go's amazing, holds in on overhead solid waves and then on the other side it surfs waist high waves with looseness, it paddles well and duck dives easy a great all rounder board! Get yourself one whatever level surfer you are to your dimensions! Next test will be in Indo!
My board turned out really well. Looks great and surfs surprising well. I was very pleased with the shape bla bla bla and "thought" it should go well BUT it goes REALLY well. Light and turns like a shortboard. Stoked

Hi Mark, Just received the balsa, Thanks! so happy : )
Patrick
I signed myself up to a masterclass with Mark to make myself a unique 50th birthday gift for myself. The results speak for themselves.
Initial engagement with Mark ensured we were on track to make the Balsa surfboard of my dreams. The next steps to progress the lengths of balsa to a surfboard shape were clear and precise thanks to Mark's guidance. Mark provides clear direction on what is required and is helpful when it comes to those tricky steps. The use of power tools and hand sanding was very therapeutic through the whole process.
Mark's experience shone through when we had some trouble with my special requests and finishes that were required. Mark was able to find solutions and ensured that the board finished in accordance with my initial design.
If you are on the fence about shaping your own Balsa board, I strongly suggest giving the process a go under Mark's guidance. You won't be sorry.
Thanks, Mark, for all your guidance and support in making my 50th birthday gift so unique.
A surf update to follow on how great it surfs.
Mark - my clock I purchased off you over 20 years ago is still going 💪
I’ve been using versa traction for the last 7-8 years. I’ve had it on all my boards. From longboards to my mid length and short boards. Haven’t gone back to wax since I tried it. There are a couple of things to consider. I have found it a bit slippery under my chest when wearing a wetsuit but have sorted that by putting a few dots of black silo on on the witty. Sounds strange but it works well. The only other issue I’ve had is riding a longboard with booties and the versa traction. Wow. Too much grip for me.I’m a fan and just about to place another order for a new board.Steve
Hey mate Archie here , board is finished and glassed ready for hsc markers. Thought you’d like to take a look. Cheers again for the beautiful wood was magic to work on for my first ever board and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome.
I wanted to determine whether or not I could build a board. Reading the well laid out e-book I think I can. But would it be better to enrol for a hands on supervised build and get assistance from the expert? Maybe some time in Cronulla is called for but might check out the CD package first!
Hey Mark,
Made it back to Colorado, thank you for the certificate and all the great pictures, and for an excellent class all around, I learned a lot!
